BabyQuip + VRBO Guest FAQ: Gear Rentals, Discounts & Support

This FAQ is designed exclusively for VRBO guests using BabyQuip to rent baby, beach, or pet gear. Here you’ll find everything you need to know about renting through BabyQuip as a guest—from booking and discounts to delivery, cancellations, and support.

What is BabyQuip? BabyQuip is the leading gear rental service and marketplace, trusted by families traveling across the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and beyond. With gear available in over 2,000 cities, we make family travel easier by delivering clean, safe, and insured gear right to your Vrbo location.

With over 250,000 reservations (and counting!), we know how to take care of traveling families. In fact, 62% of parents say renting gear from BabyQuip saved their vacation!
What’s included when I rent a full-size baby crib? Our full-size cribs are modern, sturdy, and made from real hardwood (though some Quality Providers may offer metal cribs - feel free to ask if you’d like to confirm). Each crib comes with a firm, high-quality mattress safe for infants and toddlers, plus clean linens including a mattress cover and a fitted sheet.
What types of gear does BabyQuip rent? BabyQuip rents a wide variety of baby, beach, and pet gear - including cribs, car seats, strollers, toys, pet crates, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and even small appliances.
If you don’t see something on a Quality Provider’s rental site, just ask! They may be willing to add it for you.
Are items clean and sanitized? Yes! We require all Quality Providers to meticulously clean their equipment. We understand that babies' immune systems are still developing, and parents and grandparents expect clean, sanitized products. Items are inspected and cleaned after every pickup and again before the next delivery. We recommend using organic and/or non-toxic cleaners. Inquire with your Quality Provider for specific cleaning products used. You can read more about our cleaning and sanitizing standards on our website.
Who delivers BabyQuip gear? Your gear is delivered by a local Quality Provider - a trusted, independent partner who owns and manages their own inventory. They handle delivery, setup (excluding car seats, safety gates, and other baby-proofing items), and pickup.

Quality Providers are local experts who know their communities well and take pride in making family travel easier and more comfortable.
What is a Quality Provider (QP)? Independent Quality Providers are business owners who rent, deliver, and set up baby, beach, pet gear, and more. They own the gear themselves and ensure it is clean, safe, and fully insured.

Many Quality Providers are parents, grandparents, retirees, or side-hustling superstars who love helping families travel with less stress and more joy. When you rent from a Quality Provider, you're also supporting a small business in the community you're visiting.
Where do you deliver baby gear? BabyQuip delivers gear in the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and beyond.

Once you place your order, your local Quality Provider will reach out to coordinate the delivery details - whether it’s to your Vrbo, the car rental location or even to the airport.

Note: Our partnership with Vrbo currently applies only to reservations within the United States.
How far ahead should I make my reservation? Book as early as possible! Popular items like cribs can book up quickly, especially during spring break, summer, and major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Early booking ensures you get the gear you need.
Are BabyQuip reservations automatically linked to Vrbo reservations? Not automatically - but we make it easy! When you access BabyQuip through Vrbo, your travel dates and destination are pre-filled to save you time. You'll still need to complete your BabyQuip booking separately.
How do you calculate the number of days in a rental? We count every calendar day you have the gear. For example, if you rent from Monday evening to the following Monday morning, that’s 8 days. We don’t double book days because we need time to inspect and clean the items to our high standards.
How does delivery and pickup work? After you place your order, your Quality Provider (QP) will reach out to confirm the delivery details and make a plan that works for you.

We understand that you may not have access to an exact Vrbo property address until closer to your Vrbo reservation date. You can follow-up with your QP closer to your Vrbo reservation date to finalize any additional details.

QPs handle delivery, setup (except for car seats, safety gates, or other baby-proofing gear), and pickup. They’ll coordinate directly with you - or the delivery contact you listed in your reservation - to ensure everything happens smoothly.
Does the customer need to be present for delivery? Not necessarily! Many Quality Providers offer flexible delivery options, including contactless drop-off or coordination with a Vrbo host or property manager.

You’ll work directly with your QP to make delivery and pickup as smooth and convenient as possible.
What is included in the delivery fee? Delivery, setup (excluding car seats, safety gates, and other baby-proofing items), and pick up at the completion of a reservation are included. If a QP needs to return for any reason - like you want to add gear after the initial delivery - an additional trip fee will apply.
What do I do if I don’t know how to operate or use a piece of gear? Contact your Quality Provider! You can also check the product manufacturer’s website for additional information and/or check YouTube for a video from the manufacturer. Instructions are always provided for car seats - either a manual or a link with installation instructions.
Can a Vrbo guest leave their rental gear at the Vrbo property when they depart? You want to make sure that you coordinate a pick-up time with your Quality Provider (QP) by your check-out time. If you need to leave rental gear behind, just make sure your host and QP are both on board and have agreed to the plan.
What happens if a guest leaves BabyQuip gear at a Vrbo property? If you realize you’ve left gear behind, reach out to your Quality Provider (QP) as soon as possible to arrange pickup. It might be helpful to contact the host and let them know too.

Vrbo hosts are also welcome to contact the QP directly if they notice gear has been left after checkout.
Can a BabyQuip reservation be modified?
Yes! You can log in to your BabyQuip account to make changes - like adding or removing items, updating delivery details, or adjusting your rental dates.

You can also reach out to your Quality Provider (QP) directly if you need help with a change. They’re happy to assist and work with you to update your reservation.
How do I view or modify my BabyQuip reservation? Log into your BabyQuip account to view or make changes (like adjusting dates, adding/removing items, or updating the delivery address).

Many changes are processed automatically, but some may require approval from your Quality Provider, especially if the request is made within 48 hours of your reservation start time. You’ll receive an email once your changes are confirmed or declined.

For last-minute or urgent updates, we recommend reaching out to your Quality Provider directly.

Modifications that result in a refund follow the cancellation policy.
What is your cancellation policy? At BabyQuip, we offer a family-friendly cancellation policy that balances flexibility for customers with fairness to our Quality Providers.
- Cancel within 24 hours of booking (and 48+ hours before reservation start time) = Full refund, minus the BabyQuip service fee.
- Cancel more than 24 hours before start time = Refund for QP delivery fees, surcharges, and prepaid tips. Rental fees refund depends on when you cancel (see below)

To protect our QPs and ensure gear is available for other families, refunds for rental fees depend on when you cancel.
- Cancel 15+ days before = Full refund (minus BabyQuip service fee)
- Cancel <15 days = Rental fees are non-refundable
- Purchased Cancel for Any Reason? You're covered up until delivery.

We recommend adding Cancel For Any Reason to your reservation for extra peace of mind. Reservations with Cancel For Any Reason protection can be canceled up to the start time for a full refund of rental fees.
Read the full cancellation policy here
What is Cancel For Any Reason? Cancel For Any Reason (AKA Cancel For Any Reason Trip Assurance) is an optional BabyQuip add-on that offers you the greatest level of flexibility and peace of mind with your gear rental reservation.

Please note: this is seperate from any Vrbo trip insurance or damage protection that you may have purchased, which only covers your vacation rental.

If you purchase Cancel For Any Reason, the full amount of your gear rental and service fees, minus the Cancel For Any Reason fee, will be refunded if you cancel your reservation anytime prior to the start time of your original reservation. Note that Cancel For Any Reason is only available for reservations placed with US-based Quality Providers (including Puerto Rico) and is not available for orders placed 48 hours or less from the start time of the reservation.

Customers who purchase Cancel For Any Reason are protected when plans change unexpectedly due to illness, weather events, airline cancellations, etc.

See the Cancel For Any Reason Terms and Conditions for more information.
Can I cancel a reservation myself? Yes. You may log into your BabyQuip account to cancel your reservation. Once you have successfully logged in, open your reservation, and choose 'Cancel your reservation' from the list of options on the right hand side.
Can I cancel my purchases (personal shopping, diapers, wipes, etc)? Personal shopping and other items for sale (i.e. diapers, wipes, groceries, etc) are non-cancellable, unless the supplies are to be delivered along with rental equipment, in which case, the rental cancellation policy will apply to the purchases.
What should I do if I have an issue with my BabyQuip rental? We’re here to help! If something’s not right with your rental, start by contacting your Quality Provider (QP) - they’re your go-to for delivery, pickup, or gear questions. You’ll find their contact info in your confirmation email and in your BabyQuip account.

No matter the issue, we’ll make sure you’re taken care of.
What happens if I damage the baby gear during my rental? In the event that a piece of gear is damaged, lost or stolen during your reservation and the Quality Provider submits a request for Damage Protection (only applicable to reservations taking place in the US), you will be responsible for paying a $25 minor damage charge and we will cover additional accidental damage up to $1000. You are fully responsible for damages below $25 and over $1000. We know sometimes things happen and we want you to know we got you covered.
What information does a customer need to provide when making a BabyQuip reservation? If you're booking through your Vrbo link, your travel dates, property address, and check-in and check-out times will be automatically filled in to make things easier. You can still make edits during checkout if needed.

You don’t need to look up or submit the specific property address yourself. The BabyQuip system will already have that information through the Vrbo integration, even if it’s not visible to you right away. If you need gear delivered to a different location, such as a car rental center or airport, you can enter that address instead. Your local Quality Provider (QP) will confirm the details with you closer to your stay to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Does the guest have to reserve the gear for the entire duration of their Vrbo stay? Not at all! You can adjust your rental dates and times to fit your needs, and you even have the option to pick up the gear locally instead of having it delivered.

What level of involvement is required from Vrbo hosts? Very little, if at all. The Quality Provider is the main point of contact for all BabyQuip-related matters. Quality Providers deliver to Vrbo properties every day and are used to working with property hosts to ensure an excellent guest experience. QPs are also aware that some hosts do not allow early access and require the guest to be present.
